So, on Friday my best friend got married. SHe looked so beuatiful, like a pretty pretty princess. It was quite a day. We all arrived at her house at 12 to go to the hair salon. Everyone got really pretty updoes, and we all had our makeup done. Then we went back to her house where the photographer met us for some early shots.
Next off to the church. We all touched up our makeup, put on our dresses, and assisted Betty, so that she could get all ready. She looked sooooooo beautiful.
Before we knew it, it was time to walk down the aisle. Betty looked so pretty!!!!!!
The ceremony was perfect, with one little slip up. The minister called the groom Steven by mistake. Everyone got a little chuckle.
After the reception, we all got our pictures taken. Fun Fun FUn. Then we headed to the reception. They locked us away in a room when we got to the hotel, where we had some champagne and hors d'ouvres. MMMMM. Then the fun started... the reception!!! Betty's first dance was beautiful, and I had trouble choking back tears. It was a really fun reception where we all danced all night long.
Then we got rooms in the hotel and had an after party. Betty hadn't eaten for a few days and took a few sips of aftershock and ended up a week bit drunk. It was really fun.
The next morning the wedding party got together for breakfast at Bickfords. The Breakfast buffet was super yummy. Then I headed over to Betty's house and watched her open presents.

The whole night was perfect. I wish Betty and Marc the happiest marriage ever!

Its been a busy busy week!!! It started out last saturdaywhen we had a bachelorette party for Betty at Dick's last resort. It was fun. Her future husband was therewith all his friends too, so it was a big exciting nite out. Wooo hooo. So began the hectic week. I also dyed my hair, actually hilighted it. I made it kinda blonde!

Next up came sunday. I went to the Providence Place Mall with my mom. I finally started Christmas shopping. 1 gift down, lots to go!

Monday I worked like a busy busy beaver!!!! I opened mail like the diligent little slave I am!!! After work, I went tanning. I am becoming an addict. I love love love the tanning salon. I have almost as much color as I did this summer, not quite tho. I will soon. I started tanning for the wedding, but I dont think I will ever be able to stop!!!!!! Then I cleaned my room. Pookie came over with an engagement gift, an ice cream maker!! I am sooo excited. I love ice cream!!! I cannot wait to make gummy bear fudge ice cream!

Tuesday, I went from work to the tanning salon again. MMMMM. I love it there. Then, I went home to wait for JoeJoe Bear. He drove up from Jersey, which took 7 hours. Bleh. We ordered pizza, ate and then just relaxed together.

Wednesday, I went to work, and got out at 3. I came home and dyed my hair back to browm, a color called hazelnut. I didn't like the hilights. Then I got ready for Betty's wedding rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. I am getrting nervous. Hopefully I can remember everything the lady told us!!!!! I want Betty's wedding to be perfect tomorrow.

The dinner was really nice. I sat with JoeJoe Bear, pookie, her bf, and Kristen. We giggled lots about our running jokes.

After the dinner, we went home, where my mom was going crazy gtting ready for thanksgiving. Mmmm turkeyt. My older sister was driving home from NY with her bf and his friend. Altogether, there are 10 people staying at my house!! Its a little hectic. Her bf and his friend are really cool, and its nice to have some fresh faces here.

Today is turkey day. I got up and watched the parade to see my friend Rachel who was in it. Then, it was time to put our costumes on!! Every year, we celebrate our pilgrim heritage (my many times great grandfather was actually a pilgrim, george soule) by dressing up. This year our pilgrim costume was missing, so we improvised. I dressed up as the indian. I wear paper bags taped together wtith indian symbols such a teepees and moons. Then i taped feathers in my hair. Sandy was the turkey. She wore a big orange table cloth with a red feather boa in her hair. Stacy was a "modern" pigrim. She usually wears a pigrim dress with my amish bonnet. we couldnt find either. my mom hid them i think. so she wore my red plastic dress and put a scarf in her hair. Not very pilgrimish, but we had to make due!!!!

Dinner was good. It has to be because sandy's friends are here. Holidays at my house always follow the same pattern. Tim acts like a jerk. Stacy starts crying. Dad yells. Mom gets upset and leaves the table. Its happened at every holiday here for years. We have only gotten through dinner. There is still time during dessert!!!!

MMM maybe i will run off and steal a peice of pumpkin cheesecake! Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I am really getting sick of having all my time sucked up by pointless activities. Today, I worked. Bleh. Talk about a pointless activity! I opened some mail and stuffed some envelopes! I am really getting the value of my $200,000 education!!

After work, I went tanning. You will be happy to know that I actually got some color! Wooo hooo! I actually have a lot of color still from the summer. That is what happens when you spend 8 hours a day for 3 straight months sitting in the sun studying. The bad part is that I still have tan lines on my chest and shoulders from my summer of baking my body. Soooo, it is my goal to rid myself of those lines. Hopefully, I will only have to go a few more times. The wedding is next friday, so I am cutting it close to the wire. But I really will look like an idiot with 4 sets of strap marks from my various bathing suits very visible in my strapless bridesmaid dress. And I don't want to look pail. On the upside the local tanning place is wicked cheap. I got a 5 visit package for 25 bucks!! I am definately gonna keep that in mind as Christmas approaches. I know I am going to Texas at some point near Christmas (maybe the 27th or 28th for a week) to see JoeJoeBears family. I would definately feel a lot more comfortable in the warm Texas weather wearing my cute summer/spring clothes if I have some color. No one likes to wear a denim mini and have their white legs glow like the moon!!!

Next for my exciting day. I went to the supermarket. One of my bosses is pretty prego, and we are having a surprise baby shower tomorrow for her. Everyone is bringing something to the party (held from 11-2, so we don't have to work!!) . I volunteered to bring enchiladas. I love them and the ones I make are pretty yummy. I am not sure how well they will go over tho. Most of myt co-workers are cratchy old middle ages be-otches, and I don't really suppose that they are into new and different foods. I saw the reaction my mom gave when I tried to serve them to her, and I think my co-workers are from a similar generation. They may be more of a spaghetti and meatballs, or chips and dip kind of crowd. Owell, I love them. And my brother was pissed that I didn't make him any, because he likes them too. I am expecting to get them tomorrow morning and discover several missing because my brother probably got into them.

Ahhh, my brother. He perplexes me. I have special shampoo and conditioner. He apparently has taken a liking to it. Let me just put this into perspective. I used the same bottle of shampoo from may until last week (it was a big bottle). My sister, who has really long hair, used it from may until the end of August. My little brother also did. In addition, JoeJoeBear did too! It lasted from May until last week. I opened a new bottle of shampoo on Friday. It was smaller, but not by that much. It is Tuesday. Half the bottle of shampoo was gone this morning when I took a shower! That is 4 days to use half a bottle of shampoo. That much lasts me over a months usually!!!!! I think he is drinking it. Or maybe he is planning on moving out and is slowly smuggling my shampoo, so he never has to buy it, and figured I wouldnt noticed. I am really stunned!!!!

Well, after I finished making my enchiladas, I ate one. MMMMM. Super Yummy.

Then my brother came home. He was hungry so I made him 4 hamburgers. He also had some leftover chinese rice, a few cookies, my leftover bertuccis dinner from Friday night and a few other random items. He was really hungry.

Then I did situps. I did over 100 on my exercise ball. I am freaking out cuz my belly looks nasty and I don't want to look disgusting in my dress next week!

The Amazing Race premiered tonite. There was no midget. That was the best part of last season, Charla the midget. She was seriously like super human. I have never seen anyone with so much drive and spunk. She made her normal statured cousin look like a jackass, since little Charla was such a kickass competitor. No such luck this season. I am rooting for the old grandparents. They are really cute. I don't know who else I like, maybe the sisters. It may be too early to tell. If the race is back on, does that mean a new season of big brother is starting up? or am I forced to wait till next summer? Because that is the second best show ever, after the OC. Third is american idol. I lust after Simon Cowell. MMMMM.

Anyhow, its now an hour after the first leg of the amazing race and I am pooped! The news just said that people that don't sleep have a harder time losing weight! Maybe that is why my stomach is growing. I never get more than 6 hours of sleep during the week. Maybe I should start going to bed earlier, but I get so little me time that I don't wanna waste it doing something silly like sleeping.

Anyhow, time to watch some bad late nite television and crash!

Tonite, Kristen held a toy party at her apartment as a pre wedding get together before Betty gets hitched. I really did not know what to expect. I do have to admit it was interesting. There were all kinds of things for sale, toys, lotions, lingerie; a little something for everyone!!!! I ended up get this glittery power that is flavored. If you have seen the Jessica Simpson dessert line, she has one very similar, and I have been wanting to get it, so I did!!!! I also got a little special surprise for JoeJoeBear. I hope he likes it!!!!

Awww. Its sunday. I really hate sundays. It sucks, to have Joe Joe Bear go home. I don't know how much longer I can handle this long distance thing. At least his semester is pretty much over. Then it will be only 1 more to go, and we will be living together. Yay!!!! I need to find a real job, so that I can afford to live on my own. I hate living at home!!!!!!!

This weekend was fun. Friday night, I went out with the girls plus JoeJoeBear. We wanted to see a movie, but there wasn't anything out really. So, first we went and had a yummy dinner at Bertuccis. After we went out for a few drinks, and headed home around midnite.

Saturday morning, I slept in. It was so nice. When me and JoeJoeBEar finally got up, no one was home. It was sooooo weird. My house always has tons of people around, and its never quiet. We actually got a few hours of alone time in my house. Soooo nice. Saturday afternoon, we ended up going to the mall to point out potential christmas presents to one another. I did make a Christmas list for my mom, but he wasn't too fond of what I picked out. So hopefully he now has some ideas. All he wants is video games so I don't have it too bad once I decide to shop!!

Bingo Betty called to see if we wanted to hang out. Of course we did. So, we made plans to head to her house around 8. That gave us plenty of time to just hang out together. After the mall, we hit up Newbury Comics and Bob's Stores. At Bob's I got a snowboard jacket and snowboard pants. They are all on sale right now 25-30% off, so if you need any, go quick!!! My pants are all black and my jacket is white with black and Bright orange on it. It also came with a fuzzy scarf. Its wicked cute. Now I can learn to snowboard!!!!!

Then we headed over to Betty's house. Her fiance was working, so we headed out to Peking Gardens for some uberyummy Chinese food. We also picked up Boones to drink. Lol. I actually like it. And at $2.50 a bottle, who can resist?? We brought our food back to Betty's house, started eating, and her fiance showed up. So, with a foursome, we engaged in a very LOOOOONG game of pop culture trivial pursuit. It was great fun!

Then today we stayed in bed, then crawled out of bed and watched this movie "the pact" on tv, while we cuddled. We basically cuddled all day. He didn't end up showering until 4, and I until much after that.

AT 5, we went to subway and ate dinner together, before he left. :( I tried to go tanning for Betty's wedding, but the local tanning joint closed at 5. So I guess I have to wait till tomorrow to start that. Hopefully I have enough time, the wedding is next week!!! I will just have to go every single day. I still have a pretty good tan from this summer, so it probably won't take me too long to get nice and bronzed.

Then I came home, and went through the treachery of sending out more resumes. I need a job!!!!!!!

So all in all it was a nice calm weekend.

Bzzzz. That is all I hear all day. I think my head is malfunctioning!!! Bzzzzz. Bzzzzzzzzz. I seriously hear my brain short circuiting all day long! It has been a very long few weeks for me. I am ready to just come crashing down. Bzzzzzz. Bzzzzzzz. I think my head is trying to tell me something. I see people talking to me, their mouths moving. All I hear is bzzzzzzz. I can't focus on anything, and if I try to hard, I just get in a pissy mood and snap someone's head off. Maybe the Bzzzzzz is my head's way of keeping my friends. Lol! I am definately over extended. I think way too much is going on, I feel like i don't have any time to just sit still and breath. I am being pulled in like 100000000 different directions. And just for the record, I dodn't bring most of it on myself.

All I tell myself is soon, the bzzzzzzzz will stop. But it doesn't. My mom says "Set a date for your wedding!!!" I hear "bzzzzzzzz". The bar results came out; my letter? It said Congratulations, Bzz bzzzz bzzz bzzz bzzz. Kristen asks "What is going on with bingo Betty's bachelorette party." All my head registers is "bzzzzzzzzzz." My sister calls and says edit my paper. I swear, all her last paper said was "bzzz bzzzzzzzzz bzzz bzzzzzzzzz bz bz bz." i have been looking for a job as an attorney. I try to sift through the thousands of job postings to find my diamond in the rough. They all say the same thing: "Bzzzz bzzzz bzzz bzzzzzzz with 7-10 years of experience. Bzzzzzzz." Joe says "come visit me this weekend", I hear "Drive 4 hours bzzz bzzz bzz bzzzzz bzzzz."

I think I tend to block things out a little when I get freaked out. Lol. My body does it on its own. Nothing registers. I just stay completely isolated from all of the stress and drama. All that registers with me is "Bzzzzz bzzzbzbzbzbzbz bzzzzzz".

Once Betty's wedding is all over, and all the planning and stressing by everyone is done, and once I have a real job with a real income, maybe the bzzzz will go away? WHo knows, though?!?!!? But seriously, what on earth else can possibly happen? In 1 month, I get engaged, my brother moves into my house from California, the red sox win the world series, I pass the bar, and Betty is about to get married. I am so totally overwhelmed. Maybe thats why my head won't stop bzzzzzzzz' ing. I cannot wait till all the bzzzz dies down and I can return to some form of normalcy in my life. I onluy have to get through May, and then my Joe Joe Bear will at least be living in the same state as me, and I can relax and chill on the weekends. That may drown out the bzzzzzzzzz that I just cannot shake!

I love the weekend. Especially when I am in New Jersey with Joe Joe Bear. This weekend was nice. I could finally relax and chill out, since I didn't have to freak out about the bar.

FridayI drove down to Jersey. I arrived at just about 10. JoeJoe Bear cooked me a yummy dinner. MMM. I love when he cooks for me. We went out to Bahama Breeze for a drink after dinner. We only got 1 drink there, because it apparently closes at midnight. Weird. Owell. I had a raspberry margarita and it was super duper yummy.

After our drink, we went back to JoeJoeBear's house, and finished off premade margarita I had there. I love the Jose Cuevo Margarita's that are premade, so I had a few of them at his house. All gone!!!

We drank, and both were pretty tired so we passed out probably by 1.
And we slept and slept and slept. I felt so rested at 1 the next afternoon when I rose from my coma!!! We usually hang out with Shawn and Salena when we are down there, but they were going to a wedding, so we were forced to amuse ourselves....

Off we went to lunch. We went out for Japanese food at Mikado. Mikado is an awesome place to go for lunch during the week, but on a Saturday, not so awesome. Mon thru Fri, there is an awesome lunch combo for 7 dollars that includes an entree, salad, miso soup, sushi, rice and a spring roll. On the weekend, for 12 dollars, all i got was an entree, salad and rice. Poooo.

Then we went to Bed Bath and Beyond to get some stuff; There we saw my friends Drew and Ilene. They got engaged 1 week after me and JoeJoeBear and were registering for their wedding. (Her ring is GORGEOUS!!!! DREW HAS AWESOME TASTE!) Hmmm, why not register? So we registered too!! It was fun fun fun!!! If anyone registers at BBB, tell them I refered you. I will get some kind of giftcard for sending you there!!!
If you wanna check out my registry, its at www.Bedbathandbeyond.com I made up a wedding date, cuz I haven't set one yet, so don't mark your calander when you see the date. Type in my name (Kelly Broadbent) and you can see all the fun stuff I picked out!

After registering, we went to the mall for a few minutes. I bought Joe JoeBear some Very Sexy for Men 2 cologne at Victoria's Secret. It smellllls soooooooo nice!!

After the mall, we went to dinner. JoeJoeBear's parents paid for dinner for us, in celebration for me passing the bar. We went to the Macaroni Grill. It was uber yummy!!!

After dinner, we went to the packie and picked up some beers. Joe got rolling rock cuz it is wicked cheap. The 12 packs are 6.99. I got stella, cuz i am a beer snob.

Then we passed out. And slept till 1 again. Then I spent the afternoon vegging out with my JoeJoeBear!! Then I left and Drove Home....

I got the following in an email. It sums up my feelings on the election pretty well:

I am depressed and it is a huge letdown that it is finally over and the Democrats have lost, lost, lost. Lost the presidency, lost seats in the Senate, lost seats in the House. I am very sad because I am someone who believes in a woman's right to choose, in equal protection under the law for everyone regardless of race, creed, gender, age, and sexual orientation, for someone who feels religion most certainly does not equal morality, for someone who believes the rich can get by with a little bit less so many, many poor can have a little bit more, for someone who seeks to compromise with the world rather than take it over, for someone who trusts in science and knowledge more than faith, for someone who would give up a hobby so that kids couldn't accidentally shoot themselves in the head, for someone who thinks global warming and mercury in the water might actually be important to our society, and for someone who cannot believe a president can be impeached for lying about a blow job but not for lying about going to war and leading to the deaths of over a thousand Americans and one hundred thousand Iraqis. The Democratic Party will surely take the results of this election to mean that they have to move away from my positions in order to appeal to the "great majority" of fifty-one percent and 270-something electoral votes. That saddens me more because then what?? Who is on my side on the above issues? The only hope, and it is unbearable to even hope for this that I won't, is that the Bush-Cheney-Rove-Rumsfeld, Rice, Ashcroft crew fuck up so royally in the next four years that the Democrats can benefit and claim they were correct all along and gain political victories in 2006 and 2008 without compromising their viewpoints which probably wouldn't be a politically sound long-term strategy anyway. It's going to be a long four years and if W. can improve the lot of this country and its people then he deserves some credit. I don't see him improving life for anyone but his friends and cronies. I will be happy to be wrong and unhappy to be right. Now for the only up-note to end on: hopefully, the Democrats who are left in the House and Senate will fight their asses off to keep this President in line and make sure he doesn't get more Scalia/Thomas-like justices on the High Court, that he doesn't further bankrupt our nation with tax cuts for the rich, that he doesn't continue to force freedom to be on the >march> > in the Middle East, that he doesn't privatize Social Security, and that >he> > doesn't continue to tilt the environmental playing field so far towards industry. I'm still a liberal Democrat and I am hopeful that liberalism will rise> > again and be the ideology that gets America through the tough times as >it> > has in the past.> >

I got the bar results today! I PASSED!!! i was in shock. When I went to open up the envelope, my hands we shaking. I had a tear running down my cheek. I opened the envelope, and there was just a letter. I thought for sure I was screwed. And I started reading it. IWe are pleased to inform you that you passed the written portion of the MA and MBE bar exams. It doesn't actually tell you the score, which makes me antsy. Hopefully my MBE portion is high enough to waive into Washington DC.

Anyhow, i think the stress shot out all of my energy. I wish I could sleep for the next week! Imagine waiting from July to November for test results, and paying nearly 2,000 dollars between the test and the review course. Its a little stressful. Thank god its over!! OMG I am a real lawyer!!!! I am tired. Its only Wednesday. This sucks!! Work kicks my ass. By the time I get home, all I want to do is chill out. But no. My crazy mom likes to bother me. She LOVES to bother me. And when I leave the house by 7:20 and do not get home until 5:40, I want to chill, watch reruns of 7th heaven and pet my cat. I do not want to see what she bought at the grocery store. I do not care if she makes baked potatoes in the microwave or buttered spaghetti for dinner (I tell her every night that I hate both options, but she insists on serving them depsite my protests). I do not care what type of nasty beef or pork dish is for dinner ( I am a really picky eater. For the most part, I did not eat any red meat for all of college and law school. All my mom cooks is red meat. Yuck!) I also do not care about every detail of her mundane day.

My older sister came to visit today. She lives in Manhattan, so I hardly ever see her. She got a new job for Bank of America with a VP title. I was pretty excited for her! She is in Springfield this week for training so she stopped by for dinner. (dinner, in case you are wondering was raw roast beef, buttered spaghetti, corn out of a can, nasty mashed potatoes, mushrooms (ick!!) and green been casserole covered in a mushroom sauce. I hate mushrooms as much as meat!!) It was nice to see my sister though.

I think I am allergic to my dog. He was sitting on my lap and now I am covered in hives!! Icky!!!!!!!

This is my urge to vote. Its too important. Our generation is the first to complain about any little thing in our society that goes wrong. We are the first to chide our president. We have strong opinions about abortion, the envionment, Iraq, the economy, whether we have health care, and the future of social security. Yet we are the ones that say "I am not going to vote. It doesn't matter" or "I hate them both" or "I live in MA and Kerry is going to win". So what? Vote anyway.

You don't like either candidate? Vote for Nader. Give him a chance to get 5% of the vote and have funding for a third party in the next election. Otherwise, pick one candidate!!!!! If you hate both, seriously, make a list about what is WORSE about each candidate. You have to have some opinion about something!!!! I know because I will be the one hearing it when you are making 7 dollars an hour with a bachellor's degree! or I will be the first to hear that you couldn't get birth control because Renquist was replaced by some psychotic conservative on the supreme court that decided women not only don't have the right to choose whether or not to get an abortion, but doesn't have the right to choose whether or not to get pregnant!!! Seriously, it matters. Whether or not you think it does, it does!!!

So, in Puff Daddy's words "Vote or Die!!!" If you don't vote, puff daddy will kill you!!! (See VH1's best week ever to understand this comment!!!)

Have fun at the polls!!!!
